oliver mcvicker

oliver mcvicker was the first born to james and jane mcvicker. james being the stay home father as jane was the one that went to work, her being a big time divorce lawyer in seattle. it was three years after oliver was enjoying life as the only child that her parents brought home another child. and when he was six, his parents welcomed another child into the family, bringing their family to a family of five and a happy family at that. while oliver's mom worked, oliver was busy with school, helping out at home with his dad, goofing around, and singing. oliver loved to sing and perform. he would always be in the plays at school and be active with that and when he was at home, he was always trying to get his younger siblings to play around and perform along with him.

at the age of nine, oliver went on the show star search, which he didn't get too far on that show but he was soon offered a role as part of the mickey mouse club at age ten. which meant for him and his father moving from seattle to florida for oliver to start this new adventure. oliver was one of the youngest members on this show, but it definitely didn't show as he made friends and was mature for his young age of ten. he was only on the show for two years before the show ended and that sent everyone from the cast packing their bags and headed back home. however, one of his cast-mates and him bonded and were able to get an agent to start a boy band. after recruiting three other boys to join the group, they soon became the world sensation, nsync.

once nsync was getting their feet off the ground starting in europe, james and jane were in disagreement about oliver being in this band. being a musician and a music teacher himself, james thought this was something that he could not pass out for his son and it was something he would regret as a parent, knowing how talented his son was. but jane? she was against it. it was during this team that oliver's parents divorced. it was a long time coming but this was the final straw. james moved out of their seattle home, basically keeping his stuff in storage as he toured with oliver and nsync, making sure his oldest son was taken care of during this time.

the next years flew on by. oliver couldn't tell you all he learned while he was part of nsync. it was a life he never imagined having when he was ten years old, starting out on star search. however, nsync had to come to an end when boy bands were no longer the center of attention in the music world and oliver's career was headed into a different direction. saying goodbye to a life he only knew at seventeen, oliver was not ready to head back home to seattle. so, he and his dad went los angeles where oliver dabbled with writing music and recording it. it wasn't until two years later, at nineteen, when oliver had his first single as a solo artist make air, like i love you, and from there, the rest was history. a year later, oliver went on tour with a friend from the mickey mouse club and had the time of his life. it was during this time though, that his father moved back to seattle to be there for oliver's younger siblings and start his life over as a music teacher.

life as a musician and in the hollywood life was crazy. especially when you weren't even twenty-one yet. but oliver loved it. he loved singing and performing and just making new friends. when the call came to be on SNL, he couldn't have been more excited. he had grown up watching it and the fact he was going to be on there and be in skits? it was a dream come true. life for oliver was amazing and one he just didn't want to end. it wasn't until 2008, after two albums and two sold out tours when oliver took a break from music and decided to focus on his acting career. he had dabbled more when he was younger, but he wanted to try something different and he was more than ready to do something different in his mid-twenties. he wasn't the best actor at first but after a few small roles and some guidance, oliver was making a name for him in the movie scene. nothing like an oscar, but he was enjoying his time. and that is all he cared about.

it wasn't a few years later that oliver came out with two more albums and another sold out tour that he extended. he figured at thirty he had something to prove with his music career. that he wasn't over or done with it yet. and boy, did the fans ever show the most love he could ever received from fans. he was blown away by their love at his shows and how much fun he had on tour. something he had missed. even with career since he was ten basically, oliver is still the calm, collected guy that just likes to smile and make sure he is happy. he knows if he wasn't happy, he would not be doing what he is doing. he has a movie coming out later this year as a voice as a troll and has a couple of music producing jobs come up for two different movies. he isn't sure what else holds for him, he just knows no matter what happens, it'll be okay. he will always be okay.
